In 2 easy steps, click the 3 dot menu in the top right corner and select Block. You will notice that the text box will have disappeared so that you can no longer message them nor will they be able to message you. Nothing will be visible to them that you have blocked them. If you wish to unblock them, simply follow the same steps and select unblock.
